[1] Biographical data about Herb Jenks was obtained from the National Sporting Goods Association website (note: the website states "In 1948, Jenks developed for his own company, Pacific Laminates (Sila-Flex), Costa Mesa, California, the first tubular fiberglass fishing rod." This isn't correct, tubular glass rods were developed several years earlier by NARMCO.
